A Daredevil video game seems like a no-brainer at this point. So many video games over the past few years have been using mechanics that would fit perfectly with the character anyway. This includes the Detective Mode in Rocksteady’s Batman games or Geralt’s Witcher Sense in The Witcher 3. It’s more or less how Daredevil’s enhanced senses would translate to video games.
Daredevil Game Gets An Obvious Tease
Now, seemingly out of nowhere, we have a huge hint about a potential new Daredevil game. This whole story starts off with IGN’s Jonathan Dornbush asking a simple question on Twitter. “What is your dream superhero game and which developer would you want to make it?”, reads his tweet. He also included a GIF of Insomniac’s Spider-Man game for the PlayStation 4 with this tweet.
This tweet on its own seems fairly innocent. Enter Troy Baker. The guy is one of the video game industry’s most celebrated voice over artist. He’s Joel from The Last Of Us, Booker DeWitt from BioShock Infinite, Samuel Drake from Uncharted 4, Kanji Tatsumi from Persona 4/Persona 4 Golden… The list goes on, and on, and on.
Troy Baker Is Involved In Game Somehow
Anyway, in response to Dornbush’s original tweet, he tags Bill Rosemann, VP & Head of Creative at
Marvel Games. It’s Bill Rosemann’s response to being tagged in this thread that set the internet on fire. “You, sir, are clearly a man without fear,” he responded.
For those of you who don’t know, “a man without fear” is one of Daredevil’s nicknames. Similar to how people often refer to Batman as “the dark knight”. We could exercise caution here because they haven’t said anything explicitly, but that would be silly at this point.
This All But Confirms The Existence Of A Daredevil Game
If you’re a Daredevil fan, feel free to get very, very excited about the prospect of an upcoming Daredevil game. This isn’t some random thread on the internet talking about the leak. This is Marvel Games’ VP & Head of Creative, as well as one of the most prolific actors in video games going back and forth.
Obviously, we don’t know any details, but rest assured, a Daredevil game is definitely coming, and Troy Baker is involved somehow. Fingers crossed that it ties into Insomniac’s Spider-Man and Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Avengers game somehow.
