Cyberpunk 2077 had its first Night City Wire stream, and we learnt a little bit more about the game. The event opened with an incredible two-minute trailer which showed off a bunch of action, some intrigue and gave us some glimpses of Night City.
Night City Wire Episode 1 Showed Off Cyberpunk 2077’s Prologue
Then we found out that all of that is packed into Cyberpunk 2077’s prologue, which is absolutely incredible. “What you have just seen is only the prologue of the game. So, that awesome stuff is only happening in the first few quests,” said Pawel Sasko, Lead Quest Designer for Cyberpunk 2077.
He then went on to speak more about the game’s setting, which we see in the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer they just showed off. “What the trailer shows you is really our stage – the Night City. You know, this gigantic city built of six completely unique districts surrounded by the seventh one that we call the Badlands,” said Sasko.
Braindance Will Be A Huge Part Of Cyberpunk 2077
We then saw some brand new Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay. This segment specifically showed off a mechanic called Braindance. Braindance essentially seems like this game’s take on Detective Mode from the Batman Arkham series. This specific Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay scene showed us the perspective of a mugging gone wrong.
Cyberpunk 2077 Will Let You Relive Another Person’s Experience
Patrick Mills, the game’s Senior Quest Designer, then spoke a little bit about how Braindance fits into this world. “It [Braindance] was developed as a way of recording a person’s experiences and then playing them back for someone else,” he said. This isn’t as simple as recording a video, though.
Braindance is a lot more immersive. “The could relive them as though it was happening to them,” added Mills. Nighty City Wire is going to become a regular event as we get closer and closer to the Cyberpunk 2077 release.
The current Cyberpunk 2077 release date is November 19, 2020, for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
