As an option quarterback at Little Elm High School, Beasley helped the Lobos make it to the Texas UIL-4A playoffs two years in a row. With 1,184 running yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, 1,570 throwing yards, and 12 passing touchdowns, he was a district co-MVP.
After receiving a scholarship offer, Beasley went on to play wide receiver at Southern Methodist University. As a freshman, he started seven games out of eleven and finished third on the team with 42 receptions for 366 yards and three touchdowns.
Beasley caught 40 passes for 493 yards and three touchdowns in his second season. Beasley had 87 receptions, 1,060 yards, and six touchdowns in his junior year. In his senior year, he had 86 receptions, 1,040 yards, and two touchdowns.
