Cameron Newton is an American football quarterback. He last participated in NFL play with the New England Patriots and is currently a free agent. He spent nine seasons as a player with the Carolina Panthers in the past. The Panthers selected him first overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Newton attended Florida and Blinn colleges before ultimately deciding to play football at Auburn. He won the Heisman Trophy and the Bowl Champion Series National Championship in 2010 at Auburn. With 70 rushing touchdowns, he is the NFL career leader in quarterback rushing touchdowns, earning the nickname “Super Cam.”

Cam Newton is a parent to a total of seven children, including five biological offspring and two stepchildren. With model Kia Proctor, he shares four children: Chosen, Sovereign Dior, Camidas, and Cashmere. Proctor also has a daughter named Shakira from a prior relationship.

Cam Newton’s NFL Career
On September 11, 2011, Cam made his Panthers debut. In January 2012, he was selected to the Pro Bowl. Later in the year, Newton was named to the honorary PFWA All-Rookie Team, and his peers voted him #40 on the “NFL Top 100 Players of 2012” list. The following month, he was named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year and AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. On the 2014 ranking, he rose to #24 and made his Pro Bowl comeback that year.
He underwent ankle ligament surgery in March 2014, with a four-month recuperation period. In the team’s second preseason game, Cam was allowed to play again; but, in the following game, a hard hit resulted in a hairline fracture on his ribs. Newton was in a car accident in Charlotte in December of that year that resulted in two fractures to his back, although he only missed one game.
