She claimed in the interview that the death of one of her sorority sisters at the age of 29 inspired her determination to reduce weight.
In the interview, she went on to say that she spotted a casting call for The Biggest Loser, and while she wasn’t chosen for the show, the producers submitted information about her to Extreme Weight Loss. Every footstep since then has been God. I prayed over that application before I submitted it; I prayed every step of the way, she explained at the time.
Mallory said on the episode that her heaviest weight was around 329 pounds. During her time on Extreme Weight Loss, she participated in the Half Ironman, a fitness challenge in which she swam, biked, and ran 70.3 kilometers in less than eight hours.

After witnessing the deaths of her sorority sisters, Brandi Mallory revealed her worry about not knowing what each day would bring. She went on to say When the fear of possibly dying like them started affecting my thoughts, I knew I needed to pay attention to my weight.

On November 12, Brandi’s family held a candlelight vigil in her honor. Her memorial service is scheduled for November 19 in Lithonia, Georgia. ‘Extreme Weight Loss’ co-star Kim Williams Maxile posted a beautiful tribute to Brandi, noting how her struggle impacted others during the show’s Season 5 boot camp.

Brandi Mallory Obituary
On November 12, Mallory’s family and friends held a candlelight vigil in her honor. According to her obituary, a memorial service will be held for her on November 19, 2023, in Lithonia, Georgia.
Kim Williams Maxile, an Extreme Weight Loss season 5 contestant, paid tribute to Mallory in an Instagram post on November 9.
“Rest in Love sis,” she captioned a video of her and Mallory. “To my fellow Extreme Weight Loss @extweightloss sis, @brandimallory you will be missed. I’ll never forget while I was at boot camp for season 5 we watched your season and it inspired us to keep going. “
She added, “You truly made an impact on this world with your zest and your passion for body positivity. I’m blessed to have gotten to experienced you in this world.”
