On March 8, 1988, in Reston, Virginia, Benjamin Levin, the future Benny Blanco, was born into a Jewish household. Early in their youth, he began producing music, creating hip-hop instrumentals in his bedroom using a boombox. Levin spent his summers at Camp Airy in Thurmont, Maryland, where he conducted a radio show and gave musical performances.
Since he was very young, Levin has been around music and songwriting. His parents saw that he was writing songs and creating music in his bedroom. He used to record the hip-hop instrumentals as well and overlay them with his vocals. That was quite the miracle for a six-year-old youngster to accomplish. Columbia Records took notice of him afterward.
Additionally, Blanco has a lot of childhood memories from Camp Airy. After securing a position as an apprentice under Disco D, the rest is history.
