Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is going to have the biggest map in the series’ long history. The series’ previous entry, and the Odyssey was the previous record holder in this department. However, we’ve now learnt that Valhalla’s going to be a bit bigger than that.
Ubisoft Producer Talks Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Map Size
This information comes to us from YouTuber Julien Chièze. He recently got the chance to interview Ubisoft producer Julien Laferrière, who explained the increase in map size for Valhalla. The interview itself is in French, but Reddit user u/vesat has provided a translation for it.
“I would actually say in terms of range it is probably a bit larger than Assassins Creed Odyssey,” said Laferrière.
“I do not have the exact figures at this stage, but we have not only created the whole country, which is, in this case, England, but also to a good part of Norway too. There are other secret worlds, which I can not speak about today, which contributed to the size of the game. It’s not a small game, it is a game which is clearly ambitious, which will offer many many hours of gameplay for the players.”
Will Let You Visit Multiple Cities
We already had an inkling that this game would be absolutely massive. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s director, Ashraf Ismail had already given us an indication when he spoke about the various location players would be able to explore.
“Norway is quite big on its own, but if we talk about England specifically, that’s where the majority of the game takes place,” he said in an interview with BBC Click’s Marc Cieslak. “We have four kingdoms in England so it’s Northumbria, East Anglia, Mercia, and Wessex. We have major cities like Winchester, London, York – or Jorvik at the time period,” he added.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Scope Is Incredible
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s map was absolutely enormous as it was. So the idea of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s map being even bigger, even if slightly, is mind-blowing. We haven’t seen any gameplay just yet, but the Assassin’s Creed series has been on a bit of an upswing recently.
Hopefully, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will give us plenty of stuff to do in its unfathomably huge map.
