Anne De Zogheb was born on October 2, 1942, in Alexandria, Egypt to an English mother and a Lebanese father. Charles de Zogheb, a diplomat from Lebanon, is her father. Raised in Egypt, her ancestry includes Lebanese, English, French, Dutch, and Greek. She is half Lebanese and half English. Her siblings’ existence is unknown.

Anne’s grandfather had been educated in France and knighted by the king of Italy. Large tracts of land in Alexandria, where the de Zoghebs were residing when the revolution rocked Egypt in 1952, were his inheritance. Following their move to England, Anne’s family enrolled her in a convent school.

After relocating to Paris, Anne De Zogheb secured employment at a modest fashion house. She visited the offices of Dorian Leigh, the well-known model who at the time controlled a significant modeling agency, with the encouragement of her then-boyfriend. At the age of seventeen, Anne secured the cover of French Elle in a matter of weeks.

Ford requested permission from Anne’s parents to move her to New York, and they granted it provided that Ford would adopt her.
