Derek Teel of Dialed Health was struck by a driver while out riding near Wise Winery in Lincoln, California. To locate the driver who fled the site of the incident, the California Highway Patrol is appealing for the public’s help.
The local community and beyond have shown their support for the accident through a flood of messages. On social media, Teel’s friends, family, clients, and supporters have expressed their well-wishes, shared memories of Teel’s positive influence, and offered support to help with his recuperation.
Teel’s wife Alicia revealed in a video today that among other ailments, he had to have surgery for a severely shattered pelvis, a broken femur, and a collapsed lung. Teel was conscious when he arrived at the hospital via ambulance. He did not have any brain or spinal injuries.
