Kelly completed internships in physical therapy for a total of six months, first at the Quantico Officers Candidate School for two months, then at the Landstuhl Hospital in Germany for three and a half months, and finally at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Kelly was able to treat patients within 24 hours of their often life-altering injuries because Landstuhl was the relay point for injured service members on their way home.
