Porsche is making the finishing touches to its new Macan ten years after the first model hit showrooms. The most recent model is an electric vehicle (EV) with a range of over 300 miles and performance comparable to any of its gasoline-powered predecessors.
Since its release in 2016, the Macan SUV has been Porsche’s best-selling car. For the 2024 model year, the small, luxurious crossover will get an all-electric variant. Under the new electric platform that will also support the future Audi A6 e-tron, the 2024 Macan EV will ride on the Macan nameplate.
Up to 603 horsepower is reportedly possible from the dual-motor drivetrain that will power the Macan EV. Additionally, Porsche claims that the Macan EV will have a substantially longer range than the Taycan, the company’s electric sedan, which the EPA currently estimates can go 227 miles on a single charge.
2024 Porsche Macan EV Price and Release Date
A current petrol model will cost you less than £55,000, thus the new electric Porsche Macan should start at £70,000. This is a significant price increase. The vehicle will make its formal debut on January 25 and the first models should be available in showrooms by the end of the year.

What’s New for 2024?
The anticipated release date for the Macan EV is 2024. The exterior largely resembles the present gas-powered Macan but with revised front and back styling as well as a more rounded roofline. One of the first cars in the Macan lineup to use the new electric powertrain, which is exclusive to Porsche and Audi, will be the model with the electric drivetrain.
2024 Porsche Macan EV Styling
Porsche has updated the Macan’s appearance more conservatively than the significant alterations made underneath. The new Macan retains the iconic 911-on-stilts snout that makes Porsche SUVs so recognizable, along with some stylish LEDs.
The game is obvious due to the sloping roofline, which also greatly increases efficiency and aerodynamics. Porsche also added aerodynamic covering to the car’s underbody that reaches the rear axle.
2024 Porsche Macan EV Battery Capacity and Charging Times
With an 800V architecture that enables charging speeds of up to 270kW and a sizable 100kWh Lithium Ion battery with a 95kWh usable capacity, all Porsche Macans can achieve a 10-80% charge in about 22 minutes. Although Porsche has not officially disclosed its range, the Macan should be able to travel more than 300 miles between charges.
Concerns about performance ought to be unfounded. With the option to have one on each axle, the electric Macan uses Porsche’s most recent generation of PSM motors, which produce more than 610PS (450kW) and 1,000Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. Performance should be better than the current Macan Turbo, which can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds.
For a more natural feel while driving, the EV Macan features rear-biased four-wheel drive. Air suspension, a rear differential lock, rear-wheel steering, and, for the first time, a kit similar to Porsche Active Suspension Management are available as options. It will still be a competent off-road vehicle, though, since Porsche has driven the vehicle over two million miles in development, testing it on ice, snow, and gravel from Sweden to Death Valley, USA.
