During the lockdown, when you’re completely free of the burden of work, you can binge-watch shows on Netflix. There are a few shows that you just have to watch because they’re so good. So we compiled a list of the 10 best shows on Netflix right now.

1) Bad Blood (Netflix)

If you loved Narcos, you will love this show. Bad Blood follows the Rizzuto crime family who deals with the distribution of drugs and also construction in Montreal. Things turn sour when Vico Rizzuto is sent to prison for three murders. Now that he’s back, he wants revenge, and to regain his position as king.

This show has a good cast who portray their characters well and give an emotional performance. The show came out in 2018, but the second season was recently added to Netflix. It keeps you hooked onto your screen rooting for the anti-hero that is Rizzuto. You’ll also be interested to know that it is based on a true story, just like Narcos. 2) Fauda

This show should be binge-watched because every episode has something new to offer. Fauda is about an ex-officer from the Israeli Defence Force, who is called back for duty. He is asked to look for a man who is supposed to be dead. Things start getting haywire when their initial plan does not work and soon leads them on a manhunt to find the person.

This show keeps you at the edge of your seat. The Israeli show is worth spending your time on. Three seasons of the show are going to keep you glued to your seat.

3) Godless

If you’ve watched Westworldor are looking for something on the more western front, Godless is the show for you. It follows a man called Roy Goode who hides from a gang of outlaws in the small town of La Belle. He has something that they want and he’s not ready to give it up. He hides his identity and coops up with the town’s outcast, Alice Fletcher, and her son.

Godless is a limited series on Netflix and has made quite the name for itself. The show depicts the western world with such accuracy, you feel like you’ve stepped into it. The story is fast-paced, and there are only 7 episodes that can be watched in a day.

4) Elite

It may seem like just another high school drama but please hear me out. Elite is about a group of high school students who become suspects in a murder case. The detective has to find out why the clash between the working-class students in the elite high school, Las Encinas, and the rich students became a cause for murder.
This show is aesthetically pleasing, and the suspense is built with each episode. This Spanish show has all aspects of a good murder story, perfect alibis, and every suspect with a motive to murder the victim.

5) Ozark (Netflix)

Ozark is the perfect show to binge-watch with a lot of time because it takes a little while to get a hold of the show. It is slow-paced in the beginning, but it catches up once the plot thickens. Ozark is about Martin Bryde who is on the run with his family because of a money-laundering scheme gone wrong.

In the bid to pay off debts to a Mexican drug lord and surviving, the show leaves the viewer wanting to watch the next episode as soon as the last one is over. It is the perfect mix of crime and mystery. This is the one show that people are skeptical to watch, but they should give it a chance.

6) The Keepers

The docu-series on Netflix called The Keepers is based on a true story about a nun that was murdered, and the main suspect was a priest in the Catholic School that she taught. The Keepers shows us the dark side of the Catholic Church as two former students of the nun are in a race against time to prove who the real killer is.

It does get a little dark, but if you stick with it, you can understand why this docu-series was so important to share with the world.

7) Altered Carbon

Based on a cyberpunk novel set in the dystopian future where technology rules the world, the last standing soldier is given a chance to live again in another body. The rich businessman, Bancroft, who brings Takeshi to life asks him to solve his murder. Without being discovered as a special ops soldier, and a battle for his very life, Takeshihas to solve the murder before it is too late.

The show is the perfect show where science fiction meets murder mystery. The show is complicated but it all adds up together in the end. With two seasons on Netflix, it is enough to keep you occupied for an entire weekend.

8) The Sinner

A woman who loses her memory is put in a psychiatric facility, because of a murder she committed. Detective Ambrose must find out why she murdered before she goes completely insane.

Jessica Biel delivers a fantastic performance in the first season, almost convincing you that she is her character. The show is intriguing and has a tone of mystery to it in every episode. The second season is just as good as the first one and is worth watching. Neither of the seasons is connected so the second season is a brand new mystery.

The third season will be out soon, so you should catch up on these two first.

9) Caliphate

The Swedish snow is about five women whose lives are entangled because of an oncoming ISIS attack on Sweden. These women must figure out why they were brought together in a race to stop the attack.

The show has won many hearts all around the world and is considered one of the best shows on Netflix right now. The best part about it is that it is very women-centric and shows the strength of women in the world.

10) Peaky Blinders (Netflix)

We saved the best for last. Peaky Blinders follows a gang in Birmingham in the early 1900s that is led by Thomas Shelby. The five seasons follow the trouble that the gang gets into while trying to achieve the goal of being the most notorious gang in all of Europe.

Five seasons are too short for this show because it deserves all the hype that surrounds it. Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy and every member of the cast are outstanding. The editing, directions, and story is brilliant and is definitely worth watching.
